Dear Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #1,

I would like to thank you for your generous donation that contributed to the amazing success of the 5th Holiday Gift Shop. We had 398 guest families and they selected over

2300 gifts,  350 blankets and hundreds of hats and mittens.

The gift wrapping area was very busy. Hot apple cider, cookies and candy were served.  Everyone was talking and laughing while wrapping gifts. It was a party atmosphere in the new Lakeside Commons. Over half of our guests stopped to wrap their gifts and those who didn’t have time to stay were given supplies to take home.

This year an area was added for children to decorate a Christmas tree cutout and wait while parents shopped and wrapped gifts.

Many guests stopped to pray or just talk with the prayer ministers. And over 200 Bibles were given out, though we ran out of children’s Bibles in 2 hours.

It took over 150 volunteers to make this happen, and I know many have heartwarming stories to tell about their experience.  There were lots of hugs, laughter and some tears of joy and appreciation.

Thank you again for your donation, it was used to purchase many gifts for our guests,

The Holiday Gift Shop Thanks You!!

I would like to thank you for the amazing success of the 4th Holiday Gift Shop given for the clients of the Eagan Resource Center Pantry. We hosted it at Easter Lutheran church at the Lake and it was a huge success! The $1,000 you donated to the HGS enabled us to purchase many gifts for our guests, allowing us to take more families than last year.

386 families (1200 children and 750 adults) received gifts. Several other churches, businesses and organizations joined together to provide the 2300+ gifts and 350 blankets that were distributed this year. This event was filled with joy, some tears, and lots of hugs of appreciation.

The new gift wrapping area was a huge success. Hot apple cider, cookies and candy were served. Everyone was talking and laughing while wrapping gifts. Over half of our guests stopped to wrap their gifts and those who didn’t have time to stay were given supplies to take home.

Many guests stopped to pray or just talk with the prayer ministers. And well over 100 Bibles were given out.

It took over 130 volunteers to make this happen, and I know many have heartwarming stories to tell about their experience.

It truly is more blessed to give than to receive.

Thank you everyone for being the hands and feet for God's plan. May your Christmas be brighter for your amazing generosity.

Christmas blessings to you,

Karen Raasch
